Feature 1
Carbontech is a kind of composite material made of carbon fiber sheets and PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone). Carbon fiber sheets and PEEK are stacked and interlaced together first. Then compress it to an integrated material at certain temperature and high pressure. Finally the material was cut into cases through Computer Numerical Control. To present stratum, Carbontech composite material is cut at fifteen degree angle. As a result, every Carbontech case has different grain. Although it’s a special material, it can be processed through more complicated steps. Like the unidirectional bezel, it becomes more attractive because of the refined sawtooth side.
Feature 2
In fact, PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone) is not a kind of new material, which was developed in 1978 by Britain Imperial Chemical Industries. After that, the materials that resembled PEEK were completed successively in USA, Germany and Japan, but it’s the first time to make carbon fiber sheets and PEEK stacking into watch cases in the watchmaking industry. Besides unique look, Carbontech shows excellent physical characteristics. By comparing to titanium and steel in the same size, titanium is half heavy than steel. What about Carbontech and titanium? Carbontech is one third as heavy as titanium. It also has strong corrosion resistance and Low sensitization. It also bears the advantages of carbon fiber. It won’t fade against ultraviolet ray and temperature difference. At present, watchmaking moves quickly in the high-tech direction. Feature 3
Panerai Carbontech PAM00616 is fitted with chic black rubber band printed with blue “OP” logo. Before Panerai PAM00616, Panerai launched a new generation of in-house movements, P.9010, whose feature is thin by comparing to P.9000. P.9000 is more suitable for 47mmx16.8mm case. With Glucydur, Incabloc and two barrels, it is a reliable and trustworthy movement. The sealed titanium back was coated with black PVD, whose surface was graved with Florence 1860, a manned torpedo and product information. Panerai PAM00616 is water resistant to 300 meters.
