In November 2019, the Submersible series carefully created by Panerai’s underwater R&D department ushered in a new and unique timepiece: the Submersible Verde Militare watch. This watch is special in that it is the first watch in the Submersible series with a military green dial and a diameter of only 42 mm. Not only that, this watch is only available on the official website and WeChat boutiques, limited to 500 pieces worldwide!
It is a rare small Panerai watch because of the 42mm diameter. The black dial used by Panerai was replaced by the military green face, making it full of vitality. The case is made of AISI 316L frosted stainless steel, and the calm and neat design perfectly displays Panerai’s tough-guy style.
The counter-clockwise rotating bezel on the case is equipped with a graduated scale, and the luminous coating is specially coated at 12 o’clock to facilitate the accurate timing of the dive. The matt green dial uses dots and columnar hour markers, and the hands are coated with a luminous coating to ensure that the time can be read clearly at night. At 9 o’clock on the dial, there is a small seconds dial, and the scale and the hands are coated with a white luminous coating.
The calendar display window is arranged at 3 o’clock. Next to it, there is the Panerai’s highly recognizable crown bridge protection-device. When the protective lever of the bridge guard is in the closed position, it can form a good airtightness to prevent water from flowing into the movement, thereby ensuring better waterproof performance. Secondly, the bridge guard surrounds the crown, which can effectively protect the crown against collisions to prevent movements from being affected by external forces.
The watch has a screw-in case back and is engraved with a slow torpedo pattern on the case back to pay tribute to the military origin of Panerai. The watch is limited to 500 pieces and each is individually numbered.
The watch is equipped with a new P.900 automatic mechanical movement completely developed and manufactured by Panerai. It has high-intensity operating efficiency and can provide a power reserve of 3 days and water-resistant to 300 meters.
The watch can be matched with the military green rubber strap and titanium ring buckle to explain fearless lofty sentiment, or it can be replaced with another black high-tech waterproof fabric strap with a Velcro buckle. Special tools for changing straps and screwdrivers for removing clasps are provided to allow the wearer to easily play with different styles.
